Artist Description: Mutli-talented Ewan Robertson aka Offshore was a celebrated graphic designer as well as a musician. His first release came on the legendary Scottish label, Stuff, leading him to be tied into the scene of Scottish beatmakers spearheaded by Rustie and Hudson Mohawke. Robertson's work, though, perhaps owes as much to the moors, mountains and even folk tunes of his home country as it does to hip hop and inner city London, where he lived until his sad and untimely death in 2012.

After two EPs for the label, Robertson released the "mini-album" "Bake Haus" in 2012. Robertson made eccentric, ramshackle beat-based music packed full of the rain-drenched soul of his Scottish upbringing. Leading the new wave of Cale(donian)-funk alongside fellow Aberdonians like Lockah, Offshore also drew on post-rock, static and malfunctioning computers on "Bake Haus."

With his remarkable art for the label as well as his beautiful, subtle music, Ewan Robertson will be missed by us all for a long time to come.
