Courtney Barnett

TSM represents Courtney Barnett licensing/sync rights for: World

Artist Description: Welcome to the world of Courtney Barnett – a hot, hazy place where ‘suburban banalities’ and ‘mindless procrastination’ have never sounded so compelling. Through a series of DIY releases and shows back home, to snowballing acclaim, the Melbourne-based singer, guitarist and songwriter has created a candid lyrical space for her growing legions of devotees.

Having already started to take things worldwide with her first LP collection, The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas, she cemented that stature with highly acclaimed sophomore LP Sometimes I Sit and Think and Sometimes I Just Sit that has surmounted to the top of a multitude of Best Albums of 2015 lists, notably including Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and The Guardian. Her trail of live appearances in her wake include a crushing performance of "Avant Gardner" on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show and an exhilarating special musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live's 41st season finale. Following nominations as Best New Artist at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards and as International Female Solo Artist at the 2016 Brit Awards, it's clear Barnett is one to watch out for. Courtney observes the world as it is, wrapped in distorted guitars and clever hooks.
